1.
Purposes of
Practicum
Each one of
us has strengths, the unique pattern of natural gifts, talents, and skills
acquired through education, life and work experiences. One month of having my
internship abroad I realized something:
·
Life
is an improvisational Art – we have to make it up as we go. If we are not
dreaming big, we risk dying small. Your dreams are the inspiration for
movement.
·
We
need to do less, way less, in order to be more to ourselves and to the other
important people in our life.
·
Once
we set down the façade of lives lived in an apparent order and daily calm and
began to share the truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly, about our work,
relationships, faith, and family. We become a band of brothers, knit together
and able to inspire each other to live focus lives.

Procedures
of Practicum
Universitas
Negeri Padang (UNP) my receiving university give their very best to accommodate
us in their finest. They conducted orientation where the speaker Miss Ari
oriented us about the community of Padang, and what to do if the natural
phenomena like earthquake will occur during the duration of the said program
while Pak Ananda the Director of the International Office delivered the status
and information about the university. After the orientation, they dropped us
one by one in our respective assigned school. The duration of the program flows
very well. They’ve also scheduled for some trips going around in West Sumatra.
Last night of the program we conducted our cultural night. Where culture of
each country invades during that night. Showcasing the culture of Philippines
as well as Indonesia in performing such as dancing and singing. All in all, the
international office is always open if we need some help, and advices.

Outcomes of
Practicum
At the end
of this practicum, the student teacher will be able to:
1. acquire
knowledge of efficient and creative movement through participation in a
sequential program of varied activities;
2. establish a
goal in order to achieve a higher level of satisfaction;
3. exhibit a
feeling of enthusiasm and interest in improving his wellness to enjoy teaching
in front of his students; and
4. show
interest in and appreciate individual’s culture.
4.
The
Challenges of Practicum
Life is
boring without challenges. But challenges gives more spicy flavour in my
journey in this batch of SEA Teacher!
I
encountered a lot of challenges during the duration of this program but those
challenges never beaten me down nor be hampered by limitations. Challenge to
commute in their Public Transportation (Angkot) but at the same time enjoying.
Challenge to eat spicy foods every single day but now I am looking for it. Challenge
to understand and to learn their language but now I can sing with full emotions
the Kampuang Nan Juah Dimato, Halo-Halo Bandung, and Barek Solok. Those
challenges turns into an inspiration to be a better person, to be a better
version of myself.
5.
Overall Impression
SEA Teacher
batch 7 has come to an end. A best seller in the making and a blockbuster for
all to see. At first I didn’t know anything about it. This is the first time
that Capiz State University participated in this kind of program. All I know is
that I am going to learn, to experience new things, to meet another people, to
ride not just one plane but many more just to arrive in my destination and it
sounds new but exciting. Practice teaching is not new for me. I already
finished and passed my practice teaching way back in my seventh semester. The
only difference is myself. I grow. I improve. In order for someone to master a field, one
needs to learn and relearn, until it becomes one’s daily pattern. I always knew
that there’s always a space in my heart and mind for learning. What’s good about
participating in this kind of program is that you become a star not only for
yourself, but also you become a mega star for your family, friends, university,
and influential aspirants.

Suggestions
for Future Improvement
When we
challenge ourselves to think differently, our actions will change. The quality
of service goes several notches higher when we put everything we do to help the
program succeed.
To SEAMEO.
1. Make sure
that all students or participants who acquire in your free blog trainings or orientation
can avail the training with high quality of information.
2. Can you
please extend the program? I think one month is not enough to cope everything
that we assumed to learn.
To
Universitas Negeri Padang.
1. Make sure
that before the program start, all the cooperating teacher together with the
headmaster are already informed knowledgeable about the program.
2. Make sure
that the buddies that you are going to assign in your future SEA Teacher
participants are not having so much businesses. I mean, not too busy!
3. See to it to
have a time frame for the whole duration of the program.
