Teaching
Methods of the Teacher that you Observed
During my
observation, my teacher conducted her lesson by using the Teacher-centred
approach. Where teacher is the one who deliver all the lesson and the students
are just holding their pen and taking some notes on their respective chairs.
But sometimes my teacher asking questions just to have an interaction between
her and to her class. She also used some musical instrument mock-ups during her
discussion and it’s very good to have something in real inside the four walls
of learning area.
2.
Their Learning
Materials and Innovation
It is easy
to learn if your school is fully equipped of materials being used in learning.
In SMA Negeri 2 Padang, they use real musical instruments in delivering their
lessons. It is not burden for the teacher to find some materials needed for the
discussion because learning materials can be found in each rooms.

Sources of
Learning and Technology Used by the Teachers
In an era of
high technology, the need for high-touch is evident. You may think this is
ludicrous but I can assure you that the environment for teaching is being paved
by the gadgets. This new generation grow up with tablets instead of physical
books. And when used in school, screens will always offer the temptation to
divert kids’ focus and attention to other sites and functions. That’s why I
often see my cooperating teacher to use technology in delivering her lessons.
Especially, that music and dance are aligned to promote the optimum development
of an individual physically, emotionally, mentally and socially through body
movements in the performance of properly selected physical activities.

Authentic
Assessment Used by the Teachers
The values
that form the basis for authentic assessment are derived from our beliefs and
convictions but you will not know what you’re true values are until they are
tested under pressure. When the exams of the students or even our life hangs in
the balance, we learn what is most important, what we prepared to sacrifice and
what trade-offs we are willing to make. All in all, my teacher relate the
lesson into a real life situation. For asking questions to the students by
relating the topic into authentic situations. That’s all!
