The High Emprise of Padang, Indonesia

Harau Valley
Last Saturday, February 2, 2019, together with the SEA Teacher and SEA TVET Participants we went to the Enchanted Kingdom of West Sumatra also known as the Harau Valley. We used the university bus going there around 7:30 in the morning because the place is too far from Padang. Regardless, that all the participants are late because we ended up our cultural night late in the evening.

There’s a lot of activities in the Harau Valley. You can witness also the great wall of west Sumatra. You can enjoy the different activities such as: boating, zipline, magic carpet, firing and many more. It’s more fun in Harau Valley.

Air Terjun Lembah Anai
Air Terjun or Water Falls. Along the way going to ButtiKinggi you will encounter this amazing falls. You will going to stop your car and drop for a moment and take a couple of minutes to take a picture with the freezing drop of water.

Jam Gadang
The Jam Gadang - the center of Buttikinggi City. At this moment, the said Jam Gadang is under renovation. No one is allowed to go inside and take a photo on it. But, luckily, we asked permission to the care taker to go inside and take a couple of minutes by taking a lot of pictures and selfies. That’s why I already had a photo remembrance with Jam Gadang. I can assure that Jam Gadang can attract tourist going there just because of the beauty itself.

Chinese New Year
February 5, 2019, Chinese community celebrated an annual Chinese new year in Padang Indonesia. Luckily, I witnessed the said celebration together with our buddies and some of the SEA Teacher Participants because some of our colleagues already got back in the Philippines. We stayed there for almost five hours just to witness the said celebration.

Miss Nola’s House
January 19, 2019, our trip was cancelled last night because there’s no available bus to accompany us going somewhere. That’s why Miss Nola invited us together with all the SEA Teacher participants and some of the international students that studied in the Universitas Negeri Padang for almost a year to their house to have something to eat. Her family welcomed us and offer some foods that really delicious. We played. We laughed. We created a memories.

Museum
January 13, 2019, it’s a Sunday. A mass day for the Catholic. We, the boys SEA Teachers together with Mica from Cebu, Philippines, we decided to dropped by first in the Museum then after that we went to the nearby catholic church.
The museum was really nice, it is full of history about Padang. There’s also a part of the museum they called “Earthquake Library” because inside of that room was full of meaning and memorable part during the big earthquake in Padang. I encourage everyone to go there, and learn the history of Padang.

Tea Plantation
January 12, 2019, all the SEA Teacher Participants are excited to our first day field trip going to Tea Plantation and twin lake. Around 8:00 in the morning, the university bus fetch us outside the rektorat building. And we were not informed that some of the international students of UNP are going also to the said trip. They came late, that's why we arrived in our destination late.

Tea Plantation was so amazing. I am a coffee lover and not addicted to Tea. But, that time the smell of the Tea Plants was having an addicted smell and I Love it. We were blessed because we witnessed how to harvest and talked to the native people their about the life, community, and business about the Tea Plantation.
